HOME PUJA
What is Puja?
Puja is a sacred way of invoking the living presence of the Divine into our lives and homes. Through Sanskrit mantras, offerings, and heartfelt devotion, we offer prayers and ritual to awaken and honor that Divine presence and align ourselves with grace. Rooted in the Vedas, Puranas, and Tantras, puja creates a field of blessing that brings peace and auspiciousness.
Puja Offered on Your Behalf
At Kali Mata Kutir (a chartered branch of Kali Mandir), our pujaris lead traditional worship with care and devotion. A full puja typically runs about 60–90 minutes and may include:
Kalasha sthapana (invoking the Divine Presence)
Ganesha puja (removing obstacles)
Navagraha puja (harmonizing planetary forces)
Lakshmi puja (inviting auspiciousness)
Ishta/Kula devata worship (personal or family deity)
Homa/Agni hotra (sacred fire offerings, where appropriate)
Elements are adapted to the space, family needs, and time available.
Puja in Your Home
A home puja blesses the household, clears stagnant energy, and establishes a felt sense of the Divine presence. This is beautiful for new homes, birthdays, life transitions, and family well-being.
Where we serve: Ashland and the greater Rogue Valley (Southern Oregon). Travel beyond this area is possible by request.
Fire offerings: Homa may be included outdoors or where permitted and safe; otherwise we offer a full lamp/flower puja indoors.
Typical offering: $151
If possible, please provide fresh flowers, fruit, and simple food offerings; we’ll coordinate a short checklist with you ahead of time. For outdoor homa, wood and ghee are helpful (we can advise quantities).
Puja at Kali Mata Kutir
We can offer special worship on your behalf at the sanctuary, invoking blessings for you or loved ones. If you cannot attend, we can share prasad (and, when a homa is performed, sacred ash) afterward.
Typical offering: $108
Donations support worship supplies and the temple’s ongoing service. (Kali Mata Kutir is a 501(c)(3) public charity; gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.)
Online/Remote Puja
Upon request, puja can be offered while you join by Zoom. Afterward, we can arrange a time to receive prasad or send a small token of blessing.
